There's only a few more days left of 2008.
Now should be abt time i start preparing that list for 09...
All i know for sure is that "studying hard" will not be on my list for next year...
Other then that, lazy bones in me have been in over drive lately
And i'm not really one to really fight it.. so ya!
Still have tons of things i need to do before the new year.
And i still cannot make up my mind what i'm gonna do.
The choices ppl need to make...

Today I wanted to go out and let my hair down!!
Scream Laugh and have Fun!

Then i receive word of an almost shocking news
I was half expecting it. But not this fast!!
I nearly drop my phone as i read the message.
All going-out-mood was suddenly swept away
All i wanted to do is rush to your side.
But i can't

So now all i can do is sit here and worry

Standard Charted Singapore Marathon 2008

It's surely an experience!
From the moment you sign up....
The anticipation up to the race...
The day before....
Waking up...
And actually running the race. It was all new and rather exciting!

Race pack collection!
The queue was madness!

But still organised and despite it being people mountain people sea, we didn't have to wait too long!

It was pouring outside!! Which made the wait even longer!

Saw many familiar faces between the crowd.

Thanks bestest for spending the day with me!

And so with my pack collected and number tagged!

I'm all ready to go!! (or at least i think i am ?? )

Moving through the darkness... We made our way to the starting point...

I knew that SC had a record attendance this year... But to actually see so so many people gathered at one place so early in the morning was quite an amazing feeling.

Taking our time, walking to the start. The Emcee was trying to pump us up for the run ahead!
He spotted 3 girls strolling (guess who!?) and started urging us to start running. We were totally oblivious to it, until when we actually decided to move a bit faster then the emcee went:
"Finally the girls starts running!"
So peiseh la...

It was the usual marathon route
And it's not my first time running through CBD

But i don't know why i always get such a kick when i do!

Of cause the company always makes it more fun!!

First "pit-stop"

Ena had to get her knee tapped! So we waited...

Along the way....

This just spells out what's in our minds out loud!!
"You go Jas!"

But it's SC!! We cannot just give up!
So onwards we pushed!! Step by step by step...

We passed so many ERP gantries...

I cannot help but keep thinking
"Die... forgot my cashcard! Kanna fine $60 again!"
Hahaha.... Ok... childish i know... but running does funny things to your brain.

Done with CBD...
We were heading to the other part of the route and we had to pass the starting point again...
Just in time to catch 10km flag off!

Another huge mass of people!!
We kept shouting Em's chinese name, hoping that she will hear us!!
Heehee

Then we saw some runners running BACK!!
Yes... they were finishing!!
42k!! Finishing....
And i was barely half way through my race....
*Faint*

Of cause they were the competitive runners la...
I wanted to snap a shot of them...
I don't think my cam is that slow... but i press down when they were at the left most... and by the time the moment was captured... they were at the right most!! Speeding totally off screen!!

Crazy 42k competitive runners that i actually quite admire!!
(that's a total oxymoron)

Anyway...

The sun was creeping up...
The view was breath taking!
By this time it was just a lot of walking....

Second break...
Re-tape!

Omg!! The finishing line is actually in sight!!

So one last snap shot before the mad dash to the finish line...
Yes.. I was that trigger happy!!

Some where after this... I saw Lawrence kor-kor!! He just had a wedding... Finish reservist... And he was there running 21.5k with his new wife!!
Crazy-ness la...
But it was nice bumping into a familiar face

Totally not holding back all the way to the FINISH LINE....

The feeling was great!! Crossing that line...

The sun was barely creeping up...

Finishers were crowding the field....

Got outta there as fast as we could! Didn't wanna have to squeeze with the main crowd...
So hurried to the train station and off to breakfast destination!

Finally done with the race!! On to some good hearty food!!!
Finish before 10am and was on track for my mac's breakie...
But the girls was more attracted to Cartel! (which was good all the same!)

We ordered to our heart's content!!

And it was seriously some good food!!
So very satisfying after a run like that...
Yum!

We rested our feet.... Took in the nice air con... And just talked abt the what just happened!!??
And *surprise surprise* discuss abt next year's race!!

p.s/ recently i've been experiencing a lot of problems with my lappie... Every program seems to be running very slowly... and every application is taking forever to load... I'm bracing myself for the worse! *cross fingers and toes*

So many things going on...
A bit losing my momentum to write...
Not so entu abt taking pics... Maybe cause i don't really like the pics taken by my cammie...
Who will be so nice to get me a canon for Christmas? (heehee!)

I wanted to just chill and do nothing. But it seems like the days been jam pack with things to do, people to meet, places to go. Don't get me wrong! I enjoy everything that's going on now. But some how it feels like it's just done to numb whatever's not happening... For once, can it just not be so complicated!?

Anyway... Much done and even more to write about.

Starting from the long past...

Lawrence's Wedding
(aka Wedding of the Year - at least for the family)

For weeks on end, my aunt will continuous bug us on our attendance, what we will be wearing, what time will we be there...
Oh yes! She was very excited! How not to be when it's your only son's big day!
So all we could do was indulge her with the answers she wanted to hear and smile.

I for one, was not all that excited about this wedding. I mean, i was happy to go get the dress, happy with my shoes but just not excited (i normally am about things like that) Hmm.... Guess i had other more pressing issues on my mind.

We made our way there...

Daddy, Mummy, the boys and I all dressed up!


The ballroom was just like any other. Tables all around. Flowers. People. Lots of people!! I think there was almost 70 tables that night!! *madness*

All my cousins and aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews were there.

It was nice to see everyone but felt so fake when you have to make small talk to people who obviously was gonna forget what you just said or was simple not even interested but still had to be polite. So of cause there was a lot of "Hi! How are you? Oh! What are you doing now?" And what better way to polish your PR skills then at a wedding!

What better way to kill time then to snap pictures!!

Then finally dinner was starting. By this time i was hungry (having only had 2 scoops of ice cream that day) So there was only minimal amount of pics of the food.

But no lost. It wasn't anything fantastic. I for one did not really enjoy the food there. But i guess it was ok.

Issac was having fun playing with his food...
And there was this whole incident with the "chicken head"!!
It was all jokes when it was place on his plate. He started using the spoon to hit it when his mum told him to stop it cause it was painful for the poor chick. The poor boy took it so seriously, and with this shocked and sad expression he started stroking the "chicken head" and saying "oh... sorry..."
It was hilarious!!
But of cause having a short attention span, he soon forgot about it.
Which was weird, cause he proceed to picking up the head and eating it!!!

Some times you seriously don't understand how they are thinking! But with that smile... who can fault them for anything...

And there was the latest "attraction" in the family!
Presenting the newest toy *ahem* i mean... Baby!!

And with those chubby cheeks! She is such a bundle of joy!

This is just so precious!

I left the wedding early. I was getting too bored... And i had a prior engagement. But i was glad i left. I had more fun after.... But it'll just be left as that.

Ok... moving on.... (told you it's a long post)

I recently took up a few new classes. At this new place around novena. And i'm simply falling in love with that place!! It's so so pretty la!! I wanna take like 10,000 classes there so i can go there everyday la!!

I don't even mind sitting around in between classes waiting... I don't know what it is about this place but it just have this allure to just draw me in..... *dreaming*

Finally got to meet Cow and Fie for dinner... Been ages since we met up together....
So our attendance for the night...

Dinner with them is always at some new place. Which is fun cause it's never the same! And we always get to try something new!

This time we tried Hooked! along upper thomson.

The food was alright for me. Not wow or fantastic but it was good overall!
The pictures shall do most of the talking (cause i'm kindda running out of words)

This looked special. But taste just like salmon

This was some prawn and crab thing... Not too bad

This soup is really good!!! One of the best i had
